was this at studio dan's during the SSTM session?

posted by: MCT09 on Thu, 9/3 09:55 AM EDT

or is it from the house party at marvin's a couple of years ago?

Ahh the title says Dygmies, so it's Den playing with those guys when they were getting ready to release a new CD ~4 years ago?

    2 q's:
    1. What title?
    2. (second request) How do you guys store the podcasts?

posted by: rr on Thu, 9/3 01:21 PM EDT

    R.R.:

    1. I think Jeff was referring to the image title (which you can't see). This was when I joined the Dygmies for 6 songs back in '05.

    2. iTunes iTunes iTunes...

posted by: Den on Thu, 9/3 01:28 PM EDT

RR: confirmed, that was the file name you cant see unless you right click on it and do a "save as" ...then the title will show.

You should get itunes as Den suggests, unless you have it already. If you cant install software on your work computer you can right click on the audio file link and save it to your hard drive.

If you want all the begining casts that are no longer on the internet I can find a way to get them to you.

I currently have all 197 podcasts on the company server taking up 8.7 Gigs of space. I gotta get it off of there before somebody figures it out and asks me what the hell I'm doing with all those downloads. I was thinking about getting a 20gig USB storage device. I'm not really interested in getting itunes.

posted by: rr on Thu, 9/3 04:34 PM EDT

RR, just burn them to a couple of DVD's. You can get 1-99 on one disc and the rest on another. Thats how I back mine up. Burn them as MP3 files, not as audio files.

I'll also volunteer to burn them for you if you'd like.

    were we just spammed???

posted by: MCT09 on Fri, 9/4 10:28 AM EDT

Yes, they hit about 10 different episodes last night. Usually they only spam episodes that are over a year old. They must be getting smart. I'm going to delete that post.

    Great cast JBA!

I didn't realize you guys shifted over to facebook. Was that intentional to get away from Mr. Righty??? Just kidding. I doubt that I'm gonna follow regardless because I tried facebook for about a week at JBA's prompting back in the spring and after about 50 emails I bailed.

Den - great cowbell work on 2 many secrets.
What's that you say - one of my favorite BT tunes

Politics - I'll bite. I see very little difference in the "hate" directed at Lord Obama and that of Dubbia. The extreme L or R will always rail against the leader of the party at hand regardless of orientation. But I think that O will be subject to more because he represents a more radical side of the left than Bush 43 did the right. I also think that the Bush doctrine of proactive policies towards terrorist nations was just as radical as O's economic policies. Neither created the crisis they were forced to deal with and both fired back with drastic measures.

One big difference I see is the in the coverage of the politics. The daily democratic response to issues at hand was covered and publicized far more thoroughly than the republicans is now.

Fear - said it before, they all use it to get what they want and justify their actions.

Indoctrination - I have no problem with children being exposed to politics but again if it's too one sided, without counter points, an impressionable mind will be bent one way or another. I do my best to explain the other side of the equation to my kids at home.

    Lunch time.

The Rock Band thing has been in the works for a few years. What I'm genuinely interested in is the remasters. I still haven't made up my mind if I'm going to make that purchase...I've bought every vinyl record twice plus the CD's.

And FINALLY they'll be available on iTunes now that Neil Aspinall is dead ( he was the one blocking it). I've heard rumors that "Now And Then" will finally be coming out as a download only track.

Regarding the Rock Band game, it was mostly Dhani's doing. What I've seen so far it looks pretty lame, but I'm not really into Rock Band at all. The good side of all this is it will expose a whole new generation to Beatles music that most likely are unfamiliar with it.

What I'd like to see next:

"Let It Be" on DVD with bonus footage.

"Magical Mystery Tour" recut on DVD. There is 9 hours of footage that is unused. I bet if they recut it they could make a more coherent story. Package it with the original film.

RR I love to hear your side. All I ever get is radical right or radical left opinions. The middle has no voice apparently.

You should get back on facebook but block the notices from your email. I put a block on anything @facebook and I don't get those annoying and continual notices.

I'd like to see that too Den! Maybe it will happen someday.

The big difference to me is that, at least at first, I gave W a chance. When he decided Iraq was more important than bin Laden was when I'd had enough. But these people aren't even giving him a chance.

Bush Sr did the same thing in 91 and the Dems fought it then. Equally stupid.

Anybody remember Peelander Z? The jokers are coming to Gainesville. I'm interested but cant actually see paying to see such a fuckin mess. Who knows however, maybe I'll get drunk and go have a laugh. I'll ask them if they ever heard of SSTM. I don't think they speak much Ringrish however.....

MCT09 - Did I miss something or were within a 10 minute drive of me and didn't bother to call so that I would have an excuse to go out drinking on Labor Day weekend???

Peelander Z competed against SSTM for the title of Best Band On The Planet for some contest hosted by some comic book.

You could cast votes by having a MySpace account. At the time, SSTM had 12 friends while Peelander Z had over 100,000. So, one of you called "Den" speculated that Peelander Z would obviously win since they had the most MySpace friends and that the whole contest was a big sham.

SSTM ended up with MORE votes than Peelander Z because Peelander Z didn't tell their 100,000+ MySpace friends they were even IN a contest. Sensing imminent embarrassment over his disproven theory, Den went to their MySpace page and alerted their friends and even voted for the band himself! In the end, both bands lost.
